The Long Way to Estate Planning in Tampa
I came to the United States with ambition, faith, and a suitcase. My Russian law license did not transfer, and I had no certainty about what came next. Starting over in a new country taught me more about risk and protection than any law book ever did.
Where I started
I qualified as a lawyer in Russia in 2003 and began by negotiating cross-border rights for U.S. publishers, inside a legal system that was being rewritten while I worked in it. In 2007, I earned my LL.M. in Intellectual Property from Washington University School of Law. Later I advised global corporations and international banks on regulatory compliance and risk.
Different rooms, same question every time: what is actually at stake here, and will this hold when it gets tested? A client once told me, “If you figured out the U.S. immigration system, I know you can figure out my situation.” That trust has guided me ever since.
The turning point
When I started practicing in the U.S., I landed in the traditional legal world, where the work was transactional and measured in six-minute increments. Clients came to me after something had already gone wrong. I gave advice and rarely saw what it did to their lives. I had not crossed an ocean to practice law that way. The pattern took a while to see. The real problems were almost never legal.
Businesses and families did not need more documents, they needed direction, and they wanted what they had built to reflect who they actually were. My years in banking and compliance had already taught me the other half of it: a plan nobody executes is not a plan. When I described this to people in traditional firms, I was told the idea was cute. I did not want cute.
Why I built this firm
Then Kevin and I had Gabriel. Holding our newborn son, the work stopped being abstract. Planning is not about documents. It is about direction, and about protecting purpose alongside money, so the people you love can carry forward what you built the way you meant it.
I am also finishing an LL.M. in Taxation at the University of Florida. Not for the letters. Estate planning for a business owner is usually a tax problem wearing a family’s clothes, and I would rather be the person in the room who can see both than the one who has to refer it out.
Kevin and I run businesses while raising Gabriel. That is not a marketing angle, it is our Tuesday. It is also why couples who built something together tend to find their way here. I know what that calendar looks like, and I know the questions those couples have not asked each other yet.
Before you decide anything, it helps to know what you actually want to happen. The Family Continuity Workbook walks you through the same questions we start with in the room: who steps in, what they would need to know, and what you would want said. It is yours whether or not we ever work together.
How We Work With Florida and Missouri Families
Excellence, empathy, and execution. The third one is where some firms quietly stop.
-
Excellence
Tailored drafting, current law, and a plan designed for your situation rather than adapted from someone else's.
-
Empathy
The conversation before the paperwork, including the family conversation most people are dreading. We run that one so you are not running it alone.
-
Execution
Funding, retitling, beneficiary alignment, and check-ins. A plan that was never carried out is a very expensive file.

Planning
Trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and business succession, built around your family and quoted as a flat fee.
